Hi fingersinthesoil! Welcome to ATP!

It would help to know where you are to give better advice on how much sun to give it. Looking at the picture, it's clearly not getting enough light - if it had legs or arms it would be pulling itself over to the window! That's why it's growing so long .. In my zone 8, Geraniums I grow do best in full sun til about 2pm then bright shade. When I cut my geraniums back for cuttings I make the cuttings about 4 inches long, fluff up the soil around the roots of the mother plant and put the cuttings next to the mother plant making sure at least one leave node is under the soil. Keep the soil on the dry side of moist. They root for me in about a week or two. Once rooted I gently remove them from the soil using a fork, keeping as much soil around the roots as possible, put them in their own pots, not too big! then then fill the holes in the pot with the mother plant with fresh soil.

Here is a picture of two cuttings next to the mother plant I'll be removing when it cools down a bit - it's been in the upper 90's and 100's here for the last week and next week to come - I'm waiting because with this heat, I don't want to stress the plants any more than they probably are with this heat.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
