Upon further reading and research I've found that my little tree in question is NOT the Willow Oak (Q. phellos). Willow Oak apparently does not grow this far south (this part of Florida) and the leaves of Willow Oak (Q. phellos) have tufts of hairs on the undersides which the leaves on my tree do not.

I'm now leaning more towards the Sand Laurel Oak (Quercus hemisphaerica).
