I actually have a bed right in front of my house that I put the new arrivals in if they come during summer, then I place them in their permanent places when it cools a bit. I've had great luck doing this before, so hope it works again. The bed gets a few hours of sunlight in the morning, then shade the rest of the day. We have a sprinkler system, so no need to hand water each day. The rest of our yard is mostly sun all day. The builder went nuts when clearing land for our house, so we're still waiting for our baby trees to grow up.
I haven't had as much luck with potting them up...I don't think I get the planting medium quite right. Plus I have to find room to put all the pots
