Growing in partial shade, sandy soil on my property. I was so hoping it was one of our native milkweeds but I can't find any which match it. Sad

This is another one of these plants nearby that had been broken off or bitten off but these are the bloom stalks coming off the remaining stem

And last but not least -- I pulled a leaf from the stem & there is milky sap
