The Fairies they sell there run $12.98 each. They are replicas of Cicely Mary Barker's illustrations of Flower Fairies. At age 16 she published a set of post cards. She was born in 1895 in South London. She taught herself to draw and paint. There was a series of Flower Fairy books published in 1923 with botanically accurate illustrations accompanied by poems.

The material is resin and unfortunately after one summer in my Iowa garden which is part shade, they are already fading. I should hav sprayed them with Krylon UV protectant spray. A friend of mine who is an artist repainted them for me.

You can find other people that produce the fairy figurines but they are not as detailed as hers. And now that I have 3 of hers . . in looking for others it is hard to find ones in the proportionate size.

I still like hers the best for the detail . . things in minniature with great detail.
