The search for Croton brings up all of the listings of the Croton genus and any Codiaeum entry listing Croton as the common name.

I don't see any need for an overhaul of the listings at this time. If you browse by genus, you'll find 1246 species listed under the Croton genus, including the Codiaeum entries listing Croton as a synonym. We have no cultivar entries in the Croton genus.

We have 79 Codiaeum entries, and most of them are cultivars. Their common name is Croton, and they were classified as Croton cultivars a long time ago, but it was so long ago that our database doesn't even list the earlier Croton species and subspecies as synonyms.

So there's not much need to overhaul the listings (although I do see a few new Croton species that should be added).

The only problem I see is in the generic entry for Croton. The images added to that entry do appear to be Codiaeum photos, and those will be moved.
