Most pears need a second one for cross pollination. I have a pear tree (Honey Sweet) that is touted as self fertile, but I get maybe 4 or 5 pears on it every year. They are very good though. Do you grow your figs in containers I'm guessing? Apple trees should be producing if they are 5 years old. Although some cultivars take a really long time to produce fruit.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
