Mine are year-round in the garden and have surprised me some years with two blooming periods (late spring and autumn), but I don't have the answer why they do this. I don't know if I will have any flowers this coming spring, since hungry rodents (because of the draught) have eaten them badly.

My favourite is the white with red stripes. My dad brought some bulbs hidden in the sleeve of his jacket (went through Customs' with the jacket over his arm) when he returned from visiting my mother's youngest sister and fam. in Florida some ... 20 years ago. They have reproduced happily since then.
