I finally got an I.D. from someone. They think it is
Crassla Capitella Thysifora
Leaves turn maroon if not over-watered. Spreads quickly. As with most ground hugging crassulas, it deteriorates after flowering and young shoots soon take the place of the older plants. - See more at:

It looks like my campfire but it is purple instead of red.
