Thank you for your help. That's the problem, isn't it? Many look alike. I didn't realize so many of them have leaves and bark that look very similar. I've been looking over the internet sites for awhile so I see three of those names above look familiar and do grow in Texas... not sure about Scarlet Oak.

I think I'll pull some leaves for better pictures. Maybe even gather some different looking leaves for detailed comparison.
