I have had Custard Candy for 6 years. It struggled here for a couple of years until I found a spot that it liked. Since then increase has been good. It is now in a spot that receives full sun almost all day. I will probably have to divide it in the next year or two. This is one that I was aware of being shorter and I bought it for that reason. Mine seems to come in a little under the registered 24 inches. I would estimate closer to 20 inches here. This year was the best it has ever performed for me. It was loaded with scapes and blooms I did not pay attention to branching or bud count, but this one bloomed over a long time for me. The buds are very close together at first so the first few may not fully open.

This is not a fancy daylily. Very simple but pretty. I did considering getting rid of Custard Candy this year but decided its worth keeping because it has become a reliable bloomer. Must add I have never had rebloom here.
