Actually Dave, that isn't quite right. Part of that misconception came from an article by aroid botanist Pete Boyce with whom I correspond regularly. I am the corresponding secretary of the IAS and the article still appears on the IAS site www.Aroid.org

Epipremnum aureum and Epipremnum pinnatum are very different and unique species. You can see photos of each in both the juvenile and adult forms here:
