Beautiful here in the Sangre de Christos foothills. The aspen are turning golden on the high mountain tops. Chamisa covers the plateau with a bright yellow brush balanced by the purples of wild asters and the occasional sky blue chicory.

We got a nice rain this evening with a high today of a sunny 65 and a low tonight of a brisk 44. Windows open and blankets on we will sleep well. High tomorrow of 77 and a low of 41. We will listen to our neighborhood's great horned owl and the dozens of coyotes inhabiting the hills and the pueblo land just south of us.

St. Geronimo day is next week. We are invited to the Taos pueblo for games and food and silliness from the Koshares, sacred clowns who may dump you in the river or take a bite of your fry bread. Most of the homes are open and if you venture into one you are fed, maybe elk or chicos or corn bread.

The wool festival is the week after.

Rebloom scapes on JUST JESSIE and MOON OVER MONTERY along with a single new scape on BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS promise a slow sweet release from bloom season and the buffalos on the pueblo are growing thick coats just in case winter comes.

The weather is delicious.

Charley
I’d rather have questions that can’t be answered than answers that can’t be questioned.
