Sue, thanks for the reminder on the missing black eyezone. That still has me wondering if it is really Watchyl Dipsy Doodle in their pictures. I haven't found another picture of it anywhere, but I didn't look long.

It looks like some sloppy editing on the Oakes site, since the only thing that seems to have changed was the first mention of size in the description. Like you said, it still says that the bloom is huge, and is also still has the size at 9" below that. I wish the form was listed in the database. That would probably make things a lot clearer! I haven't really been all that interested in spiders, so I'm not sure that they even come in that small of a size. Would you happen to know? I've looked at a lot of pictures, but have never really paid any attention to the size for the most part, though I have seen many large ones.

Maybe tracking down the hybridizer would be a good next move. It isn't a recent introduction, but not terribly old, either.
