I didn't see "OP", F1" or "comes true from seed" in our database or by Googling. Sorry!

Wikipedia says:
"Numerous cultivars have been selected, including ... 'Black and Blue' (very dark violet blue calyx), ..."

Calling it a cultivar hints that it might be stabilized, but I wouldn't bet a farm on that.

I'm going to guess that it's one of those "fancy" Salvias that look best when cloned.


Paraphrasing, one of Dave's other garden websites said this:

"By seeds" was not listed under "How to Propagate".
And the "Seeds" section did not say explicitly "comes TRUE from seed".
Just that you CAN collect the seeds and should dry them (?)
