@needrain Donald the clump has improved and the fans multiplied but the scapes are still only reaching about 21". The blooms, however, are normal size but sit in the foliage or just above it, which is not impressive. This is a bloom from today.

I am a bit worried at the moment because a dangerous thunderstorm is heading our way with large hailstones. I will be so unhappy if it hits the garden and smashes the flowering daylilies. Fingers crossed.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.
