Thank you for your input, Jay, but I don't think it is the one I am looking for. The description says the flower size is 1" to 2". This Chilean native species has flowers not larger than 1 to 1.25 cm.
This Oxalis only blooms with the first rain of the year.
My Google-Chile image search gave results for Oxalis mallobolba. Maybe this species has to be added to the PDB?
