Elaine is right about the seedlings, Perhaps I mis-remembered or got threads confused. I thought once they became seedlings you planned to move them to a windowsill.
Anyway - unless you heat the basement - 50-60 is too cold for Brug seedlings to do well. You can certainly start the seeds there if you have a heat mat. But once they germinate, to do well they need a warmer area.
