I live in a warm tropical climate with temperatures that rarely go below 70F, but we do have some plants that go dormant at this time of year. I have some shampoo gingers in the ground as well as in pots; and have turmeric ginger growing in the ground. Their leaves have already turned brown and dried. This is the best time to harvest the turmeric rhizomes for culinary spicing.
