I'm in the process of transferring some of my favorite shrub roses to pots, so I can take them with me, whenever we move. And truthfully, my tomatoes did better in pots (before we built the beds), than they've done in the ground the past few years. One of my close friends grows lots of produce & he has all of his tomatoes in earth boxes - they're about 8 feet tall!
