got 2 bulbs at Lowes 2020 for $8 Patio bed, north of Hib. Perfect Storm. Found out these are cheaper at Menards! May 1, 2021: Miscellaneous Event (Spray painted these after they bloomed, they do need staked sometimes. The paint held up really well and they lasted another 2 months before the base of the stalk rotted and they fell over in a wind storm. )

east side by air conditioner, the soil there is kind of heavy. This needs moved, it is too close to the house. Noticed new growth April 11, 2024, but we had a very early spring this year.
'Sun King' is a slow starter the first year or two but with age will reach 4 to 6 feet tall and wide. It's also a bit slow to emerge in the spring, so be patient. The large golden yellow leaves are decidedly tropical in demeanor, but 'Sun King' is hardy in USDA Zones 3–9
