This plant almost got killed by English Ivy that was taking over part of my garden. When I started cutting back the ivy this spring, this plant started growing again. July 8, 2021: Transplanted (Plant came up this spring after being smothered by English ivy. But the neighbors cut down two large oak trees, removing the shade. The amount of sun was killing it! So I transplanted it into my shady woodland part of my garden.)

Columbines
April 10, 2021: Obtained plant (I love Columbines. Tried growing some about twenty years ago when we moved to Virginia from Colorado. They lived about two years, but never seeded themselves. This year I decided to try again. Planted them in a more shady location in my garden this time hoping they will do better.)

My wife loved the color of this Columbine! Planted two of them in my shade border. April 10, 2021: Obtained plant (My wife loves the color of this Columbine so I added two of them in the shady border of my garden to give them some protection from our sun and heat.)

May 17, 2021: Obtained plant (Went to the garden center on the Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base and found two Jackmanii Superba Clematis. Snagged them immediately and brought them home. No one else in the area had them for sale.)
June 12, 2021: Bloomed (Went out in the morning to check on my babies and saw this bloom. The color is almost a black purple! Beautiful! Excited to see more of them bloom and then have the Golden Showers roses bloom in front of it!)

June 8, 2021: Plant emerged (Gardening is really interesting! You can plant something and then later have it die back and you think it's gone. Then years later it pops up and revives!
Kind of like eternal life in Jesus Christ! We may die physically, and be buried in the ground, but when Jesus comes back we will be resurrected and come back to life never to die again!
I planted Tiger Lilies in my yard back on 2007 I think. The last time I saw them was in 2008 - thirteen years ago. This year they have come back to life again! It's amazing what the right amount of sun will do to revive a plant!
That's just like us! The right amount of SON and we revive as well! If things are not going well in your life, try letting the SON shine on you more! He is the author of life.
Here's a picture of the Tiger Lily that is exhibiting all of her glory after 13 years in the ground!)

Lilies
It is such a shame that these beautiful lilies are so often thrown out after being purchased in a grocery store for Easter. Planting them in the garden is so easy, and requires no extra care. They then grow and bloom beautifully for years! My wife buys them every year for the house. Then after they finish blooming I plant them in my garden. For no extra cost I get healthy new lily plants!
