Introduced in 2006. This little beauty has been named after Nicholas' first granddaughter, Gabbie.Beautiful and full 5" blooms are a rich golden apricot with a hint of lavender blush undertone. A versatile color and an excellent cutflower that will arrange beautifully with most apricots, oranges, yellows, purples, reds, golds, and peach colors. Should be considered as an exhibition variety, as we expect it will do well on the show table. Attractive plant with a bush height of 4'. Trial Garden Score: 86.5. Recommended as a cut flower.

Introduced in 1995. A real cutie! Produces 2 1/2" flowers of salmon with yellow highlights in the center. Blooms early and profusely all summer and into fall! Very full, compact bush of 3' that does well in the garden. Early bloomer. Recommended as a cut flower.

Introduced in 1994. An outstanding early blooming garden variety that literally covers itself with blooms! 4" blossoms are an unusual shading of salmon with a bit of lavender blush on back of the petals, producing a unique and lovely color. Bush is a compact 3 1/2' high and has good stems so that you can cut and bring in armloads of flowers all summer long! Early bloomer. Recommended as a cut flower.

Introduced in 2006. Fruit punch on a stem! How better to describe this 5" bloom in a beautiful coral pink color. Petals are pointed and flowers are very full back to the stem, and could be a contender on the show table. Will definitely catch your eye in any arrangement, and a stand out garden color too. Plants are 4' with nice laterals for cutting. Recommended as a cut flower. Should do well in exhibition.

I grew an entire pack of seed of regular D. barbatus and did not end up with a single white flowered plant. I did get a lot of seedling die offs so perhaps the white is the least hardy.

2015 Purchased 3 from Lake Street Garden Center
I grew an entire pack of seed of regular D. barbatus and did not end up with a single white flowered plant. I did get a lot of seedling die offs so perhaps the white is the least hardy. I am dying to get a white fragrant Dianthus in my garden en mass so I saw these at the garden center and had to get them. I can't notice a smell however they are just beginning to bloom and I know some flowers only smell at certain times.

I'd like to save the best of those, which are closer to being blu
