lauribob's Plant List: Catalpa

A note from lauribob
I am not interested in selling or trading live plants. I do save seeds once in awhile and would be willing to trade those.

I planted this tree quite a while ago. I didn't make note of the year, but I would guess early 2000's. I planted it to shield the view of Randy's house when he first built, while still keeping the mountain view. I had read that they are fast growing, but this one hasn't gotten real huge, which works for me. The maple tree that I planted in '06 is actually taller than this tree.

I planted this many years ago and it really wants to spread. I should dig some of it up and put it on the front bank or in the corner.

2021: I finally identified the unknown large shrub on the FB that I thought could have been a hydrangea that I planted years ago. It bloomed for the first time this year and it is definitely a Mock Orange. I can't remember if I planted this or if the birds did. It's native to this county.

I love these things - they get great fall color!
Aspen
2020: I noticed a couple seedlings in the nearby vicinity. Wouldn't bother me if it naturalized on this bank.
2015: Planted on the bank. It's slowly growing, but still pretty small.
