A note from lauribob
I am not interested in selling or trading live plants. I do save seeds once in awhile and would be willing to trade those.

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa 'Pinetree Lettuce Mix')

Will
Vegetables
This is a nice mix of leafy and romaines, in a variety of colors and sizes. They've done really well for us, if we plant them early enough.
2010: These did well this year and we picked a lot of lettuce before it bolted.

Onion (Allium cepa 'Red Burgermaster')

Vegetables
90-100 days. Sweet onion. Does not store long.
This was a very large, juicy, mild red onion. We grew it a few years and loved it, but then just couldn't find it any more.
2008: This was the last year we were able to find starts for this. It was a great slicing onion for burgers and such.

Onion (Allium cepa 'Red River F1')

Will
Vegetables
95 days. Hybrid. 3-4", sweet. Stores 3-5 mo.
These have become our go-to red onions. They're very mild and almost slightly sweet, good sized, and excellent keepers.
2022: Nice starts. Cold May so they're not getting a lot bigger yet. Cold wet spring, the weeds grew like weeds will. The onions were all really small this year. We left a bunch of them in the garage in a trug and kind of forgot about them. It's March and I was cleaning out the garage. They are firm and fresh, and we had a really cold winter. I'm thinking it's the best place to store them if we're at home.
2021: They aren't getting weeded, so they aren't doing well
2020: We got a lot, but they didn't have much size to them this year.
2019: Small starts this year, but they did OK until the stinking gophers started eating them! We got a few small ones.
2018: Did well
2017: We got a bumper crop this year! We took a bunch south with us, but they got bitter after a while. Probably too warm in the RV down in Mexico.
2016: These are it!
2015: Really good onions!
2014: These are great! Big onions, tasty, keep for months.

Vegetables
100-110 days. Hybrid. 3-4", slightly pungent. Stores 6-8 mo.
We grew this one twice. It grew fine for us, but the taste wasn't there.
2012: Love the name, onions are so-so.
2009: Didn't get very big. These were somewhat underwhelming. Maybe it was the year.

Vegetables
100-120 days. Hybrid. 3-4", slightly pungent. Stores 8-10 mo.
We grew this one for a few years until we tried Red River and decided we liked it better. This one wasn't bad, just a bit hotter than the other one. It grew well for us.
2013: Did well. Good keepers.
2011: Pretty good this year.
2010: These were better than the reds we grew last year.

Vegetables
90 days, OP. 6" sweet. Stores 1 mo.
We do these every year - so delicious in salsa and used fresh while they last. They don't keep well at all.
2022: The starts were quite a bit smaller than the reds again. Cold May, not a lot of growth, but they look healthy enough. None of the onions did well this year. Very small. Might skip onions next year.
2021: They didn't get weeded and we only got a few small onions this year. So sad.
2019: All the onion starts were smaller this year, but they are doing well. Update - the gophers are eating all the dang onions!

Beet (Beta vulgaris 'Detroit')

Vegetables
63 days. Heirloom
Reliable old standby that we've had good results with, has good greens.
2018: Did pretty well
2011: We got a few
2010: Decent harvest

Beet (Beta vulgaris 'Early Wonder')

Vegetables
50 days. Heirloom.
Sometimes sold as Early Wonder Tall Top because they have great greens. We've grown them several times with good results.
2022: Planted May 9. Doing well this year. Cool, wet spring. We ended up with a bumper crop of beets this year. These do have great greens. The beets were kind of small, but there were so many we didn't care.
2021: They got lost in the weeds. There's probably some out there.
2019: Love those greens, and the beets are good too.

Beet (Beta vulgaris 'Golden')

Vegetables
55 days. Heirloom. Gold-fleshed.
2017: We tried these one year to keep from staining the chopping block. We both thought they were rather tasteless.

Beet (Beta vulgaris 'Red Cloud')

Vegetables
50-60 days. Hybrid.
2020: They came up OK, but we ended up with a pretty sparse row of beets. They never amounted to much - looked like tiny carrots. We were having gopher problems that year.

Beet (Beta vulgaris 'Ruby Queen')

Vegetables
60 days. Heirloom
Love the name!
2022: Planted May 9. Both doing well. Two rows of beets, two varieties. They both did well and produced a bumper crop of small beets. They were really good.
2021: Planted these along with another variety. They all got lost in the weeds.
2013: We had tons of beets this year! Yum.

Swiss Chard (Beta vulgaris var. cicla 'Bright Lights')

Prev
Vegetables
50 days. OP.
A tasty swiss chard with brightly colored stems of yellow, orange, and pink. Very jolly. We have grown these with good success many years.
2022: Planted May 9. Haven't grown these for a few years. They were the first of the cold crops to come up. Lots of lush, leafy greens in this cool, wet spring. I'm embarrassed to say that we had so much spinach, in addition to a huge crop of beet greens, that we didn't even cook any of these up. We both like the other greens better.
2014: We had a nice crop of these this year.

These are lovely shades of orange and yellow.
2013: These did well. We got quite a bit of chard and it was tasty.

Cabbage (Brassica oleracea 'Excalibur')

Vegetables
78 Days, Hybrid
A green cabbage with medium to large heads, good for sauerkraut and coleslaw.
2020: Got 4 plants from '19 seed started inside. They did OK, could have used some more weeding so they didn't get very big, and were buggy. We didn't pick most of the cabbage this year.
2019: Tried starting inside again and did get some germination, but they didn't make it.
2018: Tried to start inside, but it was a fail. I direct seeded them later and got some really nice big cabbages.

Broccoli (Brassica oleracea 'Gypsy')

Vegetables
57 days. Hybrid
I think I've given up on broccoli. It doesn't do well for me most years - it gets hot too fast and it bolts. There was one year that these produced really well, so if I do try it again, it will be this one.
2015: Can't remember what the weather was like this year, but we were still harvesting broccoli well into the heat of summer!

The biggest 'head' I got out of 8 plants.

Broccoli (Brassica oleracea 'Miranda')

Vegetables
90 days.
2020: Grew some of these. They were pretty plants, but I wasn't impressed overall. They were supposed to form a main head and then side shoots. I didn't get any real heads, but instead, small to medium clusters of what I would call side shoots. There was never enough to make a meal out of it. I gnawed on some raw, it tasted like broccoli.

Broccoli (Brassica oleracea 'Purple Peacock')

Vegetables
70 days. OP.
This is a cross between kale and broccoli.
2017: These were really pretty plants, but I don't remember them as being impressive to eat. I don't remember them forming much of a head and I'm not a big fan of kale.

75 days. Hybrid
3# Deep purple heads.
2020: Started inside and got 4 starts on the second try. Planted out in mid May, but didn't weed and all the cabbage was small and buggy.
2013: I direct planted these really late, so they didn't get very big. They were really pretty little things though. We harvested a few for salad.

Another delicious colorful cauliflower we grew this year.

Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis 'Cheddar')

Vegetables
60-70 days. Hybrid
A bright orange cauliflower. I had really nice ones one year from purchased starts several years ago. They were so festive in salads.
2012: They came up, but I didn't get anything off them. Tiny things. No garden time.
2010: They came up and did pretty well. We got a few.

Vegetables
55 days. Heirloom.
Snowy white heads 5-6" across.
2016: These grew really well and we had nice big heads. I was so pumped to have some home-grown cauliflower. They were so infested with earwigs that I couldn't even cook them. Greg hosed them off and picked them off before he brought them in the house to soak in salt water. A million more came out of them. (I didn't know this at the time.) When I started to cut them up, they just came boiling out and I threw them all right out the door. Nope, just nope.
