lauriebasler's Plant List

A note from lauriebasler
As I look over my landscape for the forum here, I realize I seem to create little postage stamps all around the beds, and not ones that look like they belong together. I would love to look at my yard and feel it reflects careful planning and continuity, But that is not the case, it looks more like someone with multiple personalities has free reighn. I use to have a garden that flowed and seemed to all fit, but, there are just too many wonderful things to grow for that,

This plant lives indoors nearly all year. It is on a shallow pot with gritty soil. It has been a fast grower for me living within a few feet of a southern exposed sliding glass door. I water freely in summer and cut way back in winter. It's a beautifully perfect sphere, easy and rewarding.

Dracaena marginata, Red edged Dracaena or Madigascar Dragon tree.
Family Agavaceae.
Great houseplant for my Pacific Northwest climate. It tolerates shade, but grows best close to a northern window. It likes an eastern window, in a bright room, with indirect light too.
Growth is slow indoors in Washington. A vacation outside for the summer really helps the plant put some growth on.
Water with room temperature water left out overnight as fluoride does not agree with this plant. Or collect rainwater. Do not overfertlise.
