A lovely daylily I bought a few years ago from Maryotts out in California, Tennessee Afterglow does very well here in my Long Island, New York, garden.

Ah, what can I say that could possibly describe the beauty of the flowers on Spacecoast Dream Catcher? The plant does not grow well and does not put out many blooms, but here it stays because it is too beautiful to part with.

Shining Like the Son is only one of the over 40 daylilies growing in my garden that were hybridized by northern hybridizer Phil Korth. A nice flower, although those pale yellow, almost white flowers are not my favorite color.

Rocks Cry Out is by far my favorite Korth daylily. It doesn't look like a northern hybridized daylily, but it is. Very hardy and stunning in the garden. I take lots of pictures of this one.

Rescue Me is one of the many introductions by Melanie Mason of North Country Daylilies that I grow in my garden. It looks great in a clump, but the flowers do have a strong tendency to turn pale in hot weather.

Westbourne Silver Linings is one of the oldest of my Westbourne intros. That is, I have had it for the longest period of time. I have this out in the front yard, where everyone passing by can easily see it. I love the color of the purple flowers.

By Newyorkrita on Sep 7, 2013 8:29 PM, concerning plant: Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Louise Engle')

I have had Louise Engle for many years now. I originally bought it because I was looking for early-blooming daylilies. I wanted to extend my bloom season, but it was not to my taste at first and I did not much care for it. Time has changed my mind, I do like this flower now and I am glad to have it blooming early pre season.

I have had Fancy Face for years. It is a very nice bloomer and a striking flower. A row of Fancy Face grew along my driveway side garden for years.

This is an old daylily intro, but it is every bit as beautiful as anything hybridized today. I bought mine because it was a bargain and was pleasantly surprised by the stunning golden blooms. The flowers are gorgeous.

Bahama Butterscotch is a very nice flower that opens well with smaller flowers. I like hot colors, so I love the orange-yellow color of the flowers.

This is an old daylily intro, but it is every bit as beautiful as anything hybridized today. When I saw pictures of Wild One in other people's daylily gardens, I knew I had to get it for my own garden. I am so glad I did. The flowers are glorious.

Tic Tac Toe is an older Maryott intro. The rather plain but very bright flowers bloom along a row in front of a section of my driveway side garden. A great no-fuss garden plant.

Thanks a Bunch is an older intro with stunning soft colored flowers. I have a large clump here by my back patio which blooms really well early each summer.

China Spring is always the very first of my Siberian Irises to bloom. It has increased to a very nice-sized clump from only a few fans planted three years ago.

Westbourne Butterfly Season is one of those daylilies that is difficult to photograph in true color. I think it is more stunning in person than any picture shows. A nice tall scape with striking flowers.

I saw a picture of Purple maze and I knew I just had to have it. Purple Maze has the most unusual and impossible to describe coloring and that truly stunning eye zone pattern. I love this daylily.

The first year I had it the flowers were duds, but by the following year it had settled in and was pumping out perfect blooms.
