  • By Australis (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - Zone 10a) on Sep 28, 2019 10:19 PM concerning plant: Lily (Lilium 'Bolero')
This is not to be confused with Lisa Hunt's oriental hybrid, also sold under the name 'Bolero': Lily (Lilium 'Bolero [Lisa Hunt]')
  • By Australis (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - Zone 10a) on Sep 28, 2019 10:17 PM concerning plant: Lily (Lilium 'Bolero [Lisa Hunt]')
This is an unregistered hybrid from Lisa Hunt. If it is ever registered, it will need to be under a different name to avoid a clash with the existing 1950 Asiatic registration: Lily (Lilium 'Bolero')

  • By Australis (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - Zone 10a) on Jul 14, 2018 3:17 AM concerning plant: Lily (Lilium Pandora)
This cultivar was granted PBR under the name 'Pandora' and so is accepted under that name, despite being uneligible for registration with the RHS due to an existing cultivar holding that name (Lily (Lilium 'Pandora'), registered by Chris North).
  • By pirl (Southold, Long Island, NY - Zone 7a) on Jul 5, 2018 9:09 AM concerning plant: Lily (Lilium 'Royal Sunset')
    Multiplies very well. I'm impressed!
  • By Australis (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - Zone 10a) on Jun 26, 2018 10:04 PM concerning plant: Lily (Lilium 'Maxwill')
According the RHS Register, there is some debate regarding the parentage of this cultivar. They reference Lilies of the World (1950) by Woodcock and Stearn, pg. 208 and Lilies (1980) by P.M. Synge, pg. 73.

  • By Australis (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - Zone 10a) on Jun 21, 2018 5:35 AM concerning plant: Lily (Lilium 'Connecticut Bronze')
The RHS Register lists two different possible parentages for this Lily. Of interest is that the parent 'Connecticut Morn' may not be the registered cultivar, as Lily (Lilium 'Connecticut Morn') also has multiple parentages, one of which lists 'Connecticut Bronze' as a parent!
  • By Australis (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - Zone 10a) on Jun 21, 2018 5:34 AM concerning plant: Lily (Lilium 'Connecticut Morn')
The RHS Register lists three different parentages for this Lily, including as with Lily (Lilium 'Connecticut Bronze'). It is suspected that multiple plants were given this name, but only one actually registered. This is borne out by the fact that Lily (Lilium 'Connecticut Bronze') has a 'Connecticut Morn' listed as a parent.

  • By stilldew (Southeast NE - Zone 5b) on Jun 9, 2018 6:42 PM concerning plant: Lily (Lilium 'Apricot Fudge')
This one took 2 years to bloom for the first time in my garden. The form is very different and reminds me of a rose.
  • By Australis (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - Zone 10a) on Jun 4, 2018 6:50 AM concerning plant: Lily (Lilium 'Golden Matrix')
This cultivar does not seem to be as hardy as the original Lily (Lilium 'Matrix') or the sport Lily (Lilium 'Sunset Matrix') (at least in my growing conditions). It did not bloom as well as either of those on its first year and then failed to return in the second year (unlike 'Matrix' and 'Sunset Matrix').
