Very pretty flower. Has survived here for many years but my recollection is that it hasn't increased a lot (daylilies are not growing here yet otherwise I'd check). It did get rust when I introduced the fungus to my garden, and it does get spring sickness.

This one has been in my garden for a good number of years, is increases slowly and also gets spring sickness here. I will likely replace it with a different daylily.

A lovely later bloomer, but alas, not a strong grower.

I just bought Susan Weber last spring as a bare root double fan. She grew well during the summer, and bloomed. I used her pollen on Big Smile (17 seeds in one pod) and on Close Up (37 seeds in two pods). I have started 6 seeds from each cross and all germinated and are now growing under lights awaiting transplant to a seedling bed when the weather warms.

Both crosses were with plants that grow vigorously in my garden and feature flowers that have a pink blush on their edges. I hope these seedlings will be vigorous growers, since the above reviews don't give Susan Weber high marks for vigour.

Susan Weber has made it through her first winter in my garden and I will update this review with her performance later this spring and summer.

I planted Susan Weber in May 2021 on Back Daylily Hill. I don't know yet how she will do yet over the winter but she had a good summer, producing 4 flowers from July 28 to August 5. They are so pretty! I hope she stays…

2022 update… as everyone has mentioned SW is not a strong grower. She was still at 2 fans this Spring and only put out two flowers this Summer. However, she had increased to 4 fans by October. Maybe next year?

I bought two DFs of Susan Weber in May of 2020. My experience with it is very similar to that of the posters above. The plant has increased very little. In the spring of 2022, I moved it to a planter with better soil, hoping it would do better. It seemed happy enough there but did not increase significantly and was overshadowed by Dynamite Returns, which I put in the same planter for the same reasons (it hadn't been happy where it was). Susan Weber has shown some rust now and then--another strike against her.

The blooms are sparse--I get a few every June or July, but they are so stunning that I haven't gotten rid of the plant. One characteristic I have noticed is that the initial bloom is usually the prettiest--subsequent blooms sometimes look a bit orangey. I must admit that I did not notice this after I moved Susan Weber to the planter, so it may have been my clay soil that caused the discoloration.

I have obtained another daylily with a similar look (Willow Dean Smith) and better performance, so I may find another home for Susan.

I got Susan Weber in 2008 and it has not increased very fast at all. At last count in 2022, it was around 20 fans and it has not been divided. What I love besides the beautiful blooms is that it begins blooming in late June and continues to bloom through almost all of July. I've not had an issue with rust.

I don't have a lot of clump pictures to go on, but I don't remember it having great branching or bud count. This is one of the few clump pictures I've taken in all the years I've had it that kind of shows branching and bud count.

While it doesn't have a lot of great stats, the beautiful, fairly late blooms are great to see when others daylilies are done.

2023 update…SW remained at four fans this year. She bloomed from July 14- August 3 with 11 flowers…so a lot better than last year.
