I was wondering if anyone might have had some experience with these plants?
What I can find so far says good light 2,500-3,500 foot candles, open media in a basket so roots can spread out. Water often, fertilize weakly/weekly, and good air movement. Temperatures from 28 to 35C, a bit cooler during the dry season.

I would appreciate any and all information.

Yes, I have grown Coelogyne Burfordiense for some years, I still have a plant.

I think it is is one of the most gorgeous of the Coelogynes, most which are sold as pandurata are actually Burfordiense which is asperata x pandurata. One drawback is that it will grow into gigantic plants, but there are ways to get around that - since the growth is linear, I have heard of people growing them successfully in long raingutters. For some years I had a plant in a long window box. But also in a square basket and in a round bowl. Everything goes!
I grow it in Summer outside a bit shaded, in the greenhouse light as one does for Phals, with some morning or late afternoon sun, not super bright Cattleya light.
I always have it in bark and keep it evenly moist. Temps are intermediate to warm.

Did I mention that these are the prettiest of all Coelogynes? Smiling
I should add, there is no dry season for this one, at least not in my hands.

Thanks very much Ursula. So I gather that they like to be watered year round?
The reason I asked is because I picked one up 3 years ago at the Naples Plant Sale. It was about 20 bulbs worth and I divided it to give like half to my buddy Dick Pippen.
Anyways it is growing decent enough but not great. I have it in a 8" plastic net pot and it is definitely growing forward. The new growths are a little smaller then the older ones. Perhaps I will change media since the red lava rock I am using might not be providing enough moisture.
I have been giving it less then Cattleya light and in a place of good air movement. It has not bloomed yet but I think that maybe with a finer media, more water and a bit more food, I can grow some bigger bulbs. Maybe then I'll get some flowers.
When does it flower?
Again, thanks so much. Thank You!
