I have good news, although a little bit sad; I've sold the online plant business to a company in Ontario, so I'll no longer be shipping across Canada. The good news? Well, they are familiar with shipping plants to the US, so they are expanding their offering of their regular types of plants that they already sell, and they will be shipping plants from my collection too. Right now, the website is still under my auspices, but it will be transferred to them by the end of June. Here's the site www.succulents.ca

I am new to this site. I looked through the list for Succulent Nurseries in California and found nothing listed.
I visited the Nursery below this last weekend - They sell retail on site and also are a resource for Nurseries.
Very large inventory, knowledgeable and helpful.

You can add them to the list if you wish to recommend them. You will also earn an acorn if you do so.

Acorns can be spent on various things on the site so you may wish to collect a few.

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!
I know several members from the Pacific Coast group and the Pacific Northwest Group can send you some recommendations as well. Good luck hunting for succulent treasures.

JoEllen, if you went to Succulent Gardens in Castroville already then in my humble opinion, you don't need to go to any other since you just went to the Ultimate of succulent nurseries. I remember going there and was totally overwhelmed such that I told my hubby to go home and pick me back up tomorrow because I was going to take so long... *Blush*

Are you closer to SG? if not there's also Lone Pine in the North Bay in Sebastopol http://www.lonepinegardens.com...

Cottage Gardens in Petaluma.

Flora Grubb in San Francisco

There's tons of succulent places in LA area and near San Diego I'm sure.

Welcome joellen, glad to meet you. And thank you for the link. They might want to see that over in the Cactus and Tender Succulent Forum. http://garden.org/forums/view/...

Wow, that must be an amazing place to shop. Unfortunately, other than the large collection of succulent cuttings and craft type items, the online sales are wholesale only. Sad

is there any Canadian/USA resource for cheap sempervivum cuttings?
there are some sellers in ebay, but very few are willing to ship to Canada.
In this case, I want to grow hardy sempervivum cutting collection(50 or more different texture/colour).

I have 10 varieties growing in planters right now.

thank you everyone! Green Grin!

Welcome Toronto!

What's your definition of cheap, Toronto? A few online places will sell unnamed rosettes for projects, landscaping, etc. but there's a price that may not be considered cheap if you want 25/50+ cultivars at the same time.

If you are willing to pay, there are people on this forum that sell their sempervivums from time to time. You may want to check the Classifieds and Group Buys forum.

I would think the cheapest way to go is to ask any fellow semp collectors if they would sell to you cheap their rosettes that they may be getting rid of from time to time for whatever reasons. They may even give them to you for free if they don't need the money.

Many thanks for the direction. I am new to the forum and my first post is to request cheap cuttings. Smiling the Classifieds and Group Buys forum is a nice one to start my hunting. there are indeed nice sales this year and last year.
I will have a try to contact past sellers to see whether they have orders to a Canadian gardener. Smiling

Hi Torontosem, Welcome! to NGA and the Sempervivium Forum.

The shipping restrictions between the U.S. and Canada are pretty tough, and it is expensive to get the required permits on both ends.
Here is a Canadian grower that might work for you.
