Yes they do Julia. And they are a great nursery to buy from. I understand that the person buying also has to have a permit.
@goldfinch4 Chris might be able to give us more information on that.

I just checked SMG's website, they don't ship to Canada - it says 'due to prior issues' I've always found it odd that we can't ship to a neighbor that bugs could just fly across or jump across to but oh well Whistling I know it has to do with our fruit tree agriculture production in California and WA state but it still seems silly and unlikely that Canada would have some bugs that we wouldn't already have nodding
Still fun to check out the website, and Don the owner may ship on an individual basis...

Cheers

Thank you all for the discussion and help for my request. Hurray!
I noticed lots of USA sellers won't sell to Canada. But they may ship to other countries. Glare Well, there are regulations. I tip my hat to you.

but I don't think Sempervivum cuttings (bare roots or no roots) has big issues to bring bugs/virus around.

From what the Europeans have told me, there is a problem with contamination of potatoes and they must scrub their plants really clean/ remove roots or get an expensive test to prove potatoes have not been grown on the site ever!

I know this is set up to protect, but it is discouraging to us wanting the new plants.

Thank you for the explanations Greg and Kevin.
It seems like it is just getting more difficult to ship to or receive from other countries. Sad

James from Toronto ...Welcome.... My web site says that I do not ship out of the country. www.pansgardens.com
I might be convinced to make an exception because I live close to Olympia and the person who issues the phyto sanitary certificate is a friend. BUT getting it is very time consuming (time =money) and I will still have to pay the Washington State Department of Agriculture fee. I also have to make sure that every plant is not available in Canada. If it is I cannot ship it to you at all. This is a LOT of work. Soooo asking for cheap plants shipped from the USA to Toronto is really a bit of an insult. If you really must have american plants I suggest looking up a nursery in Buffalo, Tonawanda, Nigara on the Lake or Syracuse or somewhere in Mi. and making a day trip. No U.S. nursery will risk smuggling plants into Canada. If caught we would be out of business, not to mention that 50 plants(even chicks).
is way to much to fit in a shoe . LOL Hilarious! This is also the wrong time of year for you to be trying to establish chicks with or without roots as they will not have enough time to develop sufficient roots before your winter sets in. (They are NOT houseplants). I bet there are some very nice garden centers in Woodbridge, Brampton, Missisauga, Huttonville (I think I remember one east of the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 27) and other 'Burbs around Toronto. Check that out first. At this time of year they will be wanting to reduce inventory before the big chill and the plants will already have a good root system. Good Luck

Thank you Jo Ann. You have very good points. It is indeed quite late this year to get cuttings to continue. Also You are quite familiar with GTA. LOL Hurray!
I just received an order of 40 varieties within Canada and put them to the raised flower bed already. Hopefully
they may survive the winter.

I will go hunting next spring then. Green Grin!
by the way, you have very nice collection. I am indeed amazed by the red colored plants. Smiling nodding

Oh Boy! Oh Boy! I just checked out the website for Perennial Obsessions and I don't know how I missed them in my online searches.

They have so many beautiful stuff that I was quite gobsmacked!

And the best part is they are only about a 1.5 hour drive from my house so I plan on paying them a visit before their season ends.

I think I am gonna need to get some more pots!! Hurray!

They have quite a selection. If you plan to physically go there, give yourself a lot of time for browsing and "picking-up each pot to look at closely". I had an easy time to pick out all the interesting semps but a really hard time to narrow it down to stay within my monthly semp budget... Crying

I just looked through their whole semps offerings. Looks wonderful and I'll have to order. I'm envious of anyone who can go there in person.

Ohhh Sighing!
Yes, there is that thing called budget here at my place. Going out to the highway with my homemade sign 'Organic Grasshopper meat'. I wonder how many plants I can buy with the earnings? Sticking tongue out
I see they are open 12 to 6 pm on Fridays.
