Hi everyone,
Picked up this lovely Phal from a Home Depot a few weeks ago, but haven't been able to put a name to it. Does anyone know the type?

I have no idea, but - does it have a label with the supplier/grower on it to Home Depot? Around here, mostly at Trader Joe's, I see the grower as Matsui Nursery sometimes listed on the label. Perhaps that might be a way to find out, although I am not too positive it might be successful.

Difficult difficult task. Next to impossible. The only chance you have is if by chance it is a mericlone and some one out there recognizes it.
Let's assume that it is a modern hybrid, something within the last 10 to 15 years. It is not like there is a database like "Facial Recognition" for humans. We can't scan the flower and run the image through a software ID program. Even within the last ten years there may have been 500 hybrids of which say 10% got awarded so there is an image to research. But if we find something similar, how can we say for sure? There is no sure way to tell. If it is one of the 450 crosses made but not awarded you virtually have a Zero chance. Forget the name and enjoy it. Call it Tiffany or Sue, it doesn't really matter.

Unfortunately Bill is right. There are so many Phals around these days that it's nigh-impossible to identify them unless it's unusual or a well-known/awarded clone.

As Ursula suggested, the tag might provide some more useful information, as occasionally it will have a product number on it that correlates back to the original nursery's catalogue. You might be able to find the name that way, but it's a long shot.

Thank you all. Unfortunately it had a generic label which I threw out.

In any case, I will.enjoy it just the same!
