Dust Be Diamonds X Tuxedo Junction #2, my late blooming near white, is officially a bud builder! I originally had the bud count down as 13 on one scape and 14 on the other. Now it has 17 and 18 buds and building! Woo hoo!

Don't you just love going out and seeing things that you made yourself? Well with a little help from mother nature. One year I got soooo busy and planted some seeds. It was WAY too much work for this old gal. I still have some of them, one of which is my avatar. My son really liked one of them I may put his name on it.

Dot - Did you ever register the seedling that is your avatar? It's a beautiful thing! I do love going out and seeing seedlings that I created. It's so exciting to see them bloom for the first time - just like Christmas every morning!

I didn't register anything yet. My son liked this one and I may name it for him, it would be Raymon Duane. It has more yellow than the picture.

The yellow one that was my avatar before, I may name for his girlfriend, but alas the day she came to look at flowers it was not blooming. So I guess maybe next year.

The one that is my avatar now, I just put it into a bigger pot and where it gets more sun to see how it performs. It doesn't have high bud count or anything I just like it.

Dot - The seedling you are naming after your son is a nice one. It has very nice eye and edge. It's too bad the one that's your avatar doesn't have more buds. I love that one!

This is a four-year-old seedling I will be registering next year. It is a cross of Evening Enchantment and Gilded Knight. It isn't exactly cutting edge, but it is a solid garden performer. An evergreen with a 5.5 inch bloom on 28 inch scapes, it has four-way branching and 18-23 buds. It's an extra early bloomer that blooms with the Stellas. This seedling is rainfast, quite sunfast and is pod and pollen fertile. So far it has not rebloomed for me.

I love your seedling Dot,. I agree with your son. It has an awesome eye and edge and nice throat and pattern on the sepals.

Shive that grape purple is wonderful with that green throat.

Great scape on the dark seedling, it looks like a great garden plant and that's what its all about. If everything we registered was cutting edge we wouldn't have very many registered daylilies

Some of my favorite plants are still just simple colors:

Evening Enchantment has been at the top for years.
Charles Johnston is a beautiful red.
Steve Trimmer is my best pod setter and so lovely.
Mister Lucky is one that I'm not going to do without, I really love it. It's covered in pods!!!
Alabama Jubilee just glows and it sets pods great too.

This is just a few, all are older and all are in my top ten. So, I'd register that beautiful purple seedling with all of those branches. It would be very welcome in my garden. I have a lot more fancy ones but none more loved.

Thanks Michele and Shannon!

Shannon, it would really pop next to a white or a yellow, or even an orange daylily.
