Margaret and Christine, I really enjoyed the photos you posted. It is nice to see others with lots of blooms. Mine are about finished blooming, just a very few each day.

I collect late daylilies. In fact made a bed of some of them since seeing one or two blooms in a bed of just foliage and old scapes was depressing to me. It's a failure though. It is inside several other beds under a lilac tree and can't really be seen unless one walks around all the other 'dead' beds to go look!

I'll share a few that are late to very late blooms.

FAREWELL PARTY - Hibbard was a small hybridizer on Long Island and introduced several lates.

JOANNA LEE AHRENS - Hanson produces several late bloomers. He says its because by the time he had time to start selecting it was late in the season, and one year led to another of lates! Named for his sister

JERRY'S WHIRLIGIG is out of ORCHID CORSAGE which is also late.

ADELINE GOLDNER - stunning rich gold

maybe I can add some others in later... BB

Love that Tuscawilla Tigress & Farewell Party.

About 1/4 of my daylilies are midlates, lates or very lates. I too try to purchase lates because I too hate the dead beds. The problem I am havingis that many of the lates are blooming mid to midlate for me. I had pretty good blooms in July - same as last year, and very little now, although I am seeing some scapes & reblooms.

Last year I attributed it to the majority of the daylilies being new & their seasons screwed up. This year it's the hot summer, many things have bloomed up to 3 weeks earlier than normal.

I have a few lates that haven't bloomed yet, and am not yet seeing scapes on, so I am crossing my fingers. I also have reblooms coming because of the extended season so I shouldn't complain too loudly. I still have about 4 blooming on any given day right now. Hopefully things will continue to improve over the next few years.

I was hoping some of my seedlings would be lates, but they are all bloomed out already. ~Jan

FINAL TOUCH is always one of my longest blooming lates because it's a bud builder.

I got two of Judy Davisson's lates last fall, and they were two of my latest blooming lates.
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS

MISS GOLDIE GOLD DIGGER

FORSYTH GARRETT MASON is another very late late bloomer

REMEMBERING ROSE, registered ML, is always one of my latest bloomers.
