I've come to the realization my Daylily hoarding requires some more permanent plant markers. Does anyone know of a good place to purchase these? I'm looking to spend low dollars in return for high quality. Rolling on the floor laughing Thank You!

Larry, I was thinking about stainless steel wires for my clay soil, I'm not sure what kind of metal I can get for the nameplate which to affix a label. I'm open to suggestions though.

Thanks Diana, I'll look into those!

Greenhouse Megastore has the galvanized steel 10" with copper plate for $60 per case of 120. They also offer a 5" with zinc plate for $43.70 per case of 120, but those are currently out of stock. I too have been marker shopping. This is the best price I've found.

I buy mine from here: The shipping is "free"... included in the price. I buy the Rose style . I recommend not buying the zinc wire that goes in the ground. Those rusted badly in my garden soil, so I have switched to the stainless steel wires, and the heavy duty zinc Name Plates. I also found that the combination of using the zinc wires with the zinc name plates allowed the name plate to consistently slide down. The combination of the stainless steel wires and the heavy duty zinc name plates keeps that from happening, the name plants become very hard to even force down.

I have see fine plant markers that have been in use for years. The last few years I have been ordering stainless steel from Amazon in the 20" length as I like a longer marker. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F86AJYI/ They come in 25, 50 and 100 packages, I like the way the label plates are held on these they do not fall off the way the see fine do sometimes then I take a pliers out and recrimp them back on the galvanized heavy wire.

I have used Kincaid plant markers for years. They have stainless steel markers and the name plates are guaranteed to NOT fall off. I especially like that they have a variety of heights with a 45 degree angled name plate to make reading the label easier.

I really liked the Kincaid markers, especially the ones with the posts in the back. They were just a little pricey for me, I'm sure they were worth the higher cost though.

Used the Kincaid for several years, never any problems, occasionally have sent a few through the snow thrower, took a licking keeps on ticking.
Pair it with the Brother Ptouch UV resistant labels, winning combo

Robin, I'm sure you've already found the right metal plant markers for you, but I just saw this and decided to throw in my latest find. I've been having trouble finding the ones I like, and I ordered some from A.M. Leonard -- but they confirmed my order but have still not shipped to date. But I found these on Gardener's Supply and they are shipping right now.

However, I see they currently list only one pk in stock... Anyway, I have used these for years with my Brother labels -- and they're fantastic.

I order from Everlast too and even though I have purchased the zinc wire in the past, I will pay the extra money and buy stainless steel from now on. I love the zinc plates and my original Brother P-touch labels have never had to be replaced on them (at least 10 years).

The only problem I have is with the zinc wire. Once it rusts out at ground level, I have to break off the part below the rust and then I will stick it back in the ground. Eventually, the markers are too short and have to be replaced. Like Larry said, I also noticed that the zinc plates tend to fall down on the zinc wires. I do not know if it is the zinc on zinc that causes the issue or what.

Zinc markers wire did not last in my garden when I tried them many years ago. They were a mess to use exactly as Vickie described, wonder if the soil everywhere causes them to fail. Would rather invest my time and money making labels in something that stands the test of time. The stainless steel markers are an investment that lasts for me.
