Well, I lost one of my Sempervivum in the garden and I am wondering what
to replace it with. It was in full sun and here in Hot and Humid Houston TX

Sempervivum will not survive in your hot and humid Texas full sun conditions. Have you tried Aristaloe aristata?
I love mine, and it would handle your conditions of full sun much better than sempervivum.


Mine is blooming now, but I recently moved it to the new place in Oregon City, so will have to wait until this weekend to get a new photo of it in bloom. Nice thing is the blooming plant does not die after blooming.

The Aloe might work. I have also received the suggestion of Senecio serpens

Well I have gotten now two suggestions the Aloe and Senecio serpens
I had a feeling that Semps would not work with the full sun of a Houston
afternoon. But don't worry I have other semps in a more shaded situation.
So this is just for the one specific situation with full afternoon sun all
summer long.

Or, how about Senecio mandraliscae? Looks like it would spill over the edge of the container as it grows. Kind of like the 'Burro' you had.
