Sempervivum will not survive in your hot and humid Texas full sun conditions. Have you tried Aristaloe aristata?
I love mine, and it would handle your conditions of full sun much better than sempervivum.


Mine is blooming now, but I recently moved it to the new place in Oregon City, so will have to wait until this weekend to get a new photo of it in bloom. Nice thing is the blooming plant does not die after blooming.


Mine is grown in full sun.
