Hi there!

My Philodendron Gloriosum cutting has been sitting on a mix of orchid bark, Perlite, horticultural charcoal, coco coir and potting mix. Today I noticed that there is a very fine hairy white substance ( I assume it's mould) growing on the original rhizome (not visible through the phone's camera lens).The original rhizome itself is quite squishy, gooey and somewhat hollow.

My question is, should I cut off the rotted rhizome and leave the new growth? Or should I treat with fungicide and leave the whole thing intact?

OI would leave it myself, it should eventually desiccate and you can just pluck it away. If you try and cut it you may take some new roots with it. But I would definitely treat it with a fungicide
