Hi there!

My Philodendron Gloriosum cutting has been sitting on a mix of orchid bark, Perlite, horticultural charcoal, coco coir and potting mix. Today I noticed that there is a very fine hairy white substance ( I assume it's mould) growing on the original rhizome (not visible through the phone's camera lens). The original rhizome itself is quite squishy, gooey and somewhat hollow.

My question is, should I cut off the rotted rhizome and leave the new growth? Or should I treat with fungicide and leave the whole thing intact?

Thanks for any and all advice! This forum is a really great place to learn from experienced growers. I only recently got into growing plants now that I am studying in university and am earning some money to explore my passions. Sticking tongue out
