The tray below is a Droll Yankees see tray. I found it snapped off of the feeder last year shortly after having filled the feeder. Feathers all over. Probably a hawk strike. Anyway, the warranty only covers squirrel damage. So, I thought I'd try out Flex Seal Tape that I keep seeing on commercials.

Don't.

It's been on for about a week but I haven't reattached it to a feeder yet. The tape backer that holds the adhesive has actually separated from the adhesive (look for the bubble looking areas), the edges stuck to everything, and in general this looks like it won't hold and cleaning will be a mess. Last ditch effort for the tray but the product doesn't appear to be terribly effective.

Always looking for interesting plants for pollinators and food! Bonus points for highly, and pleasantly scented plants.

Just a quick idea... if you have a roll of aluminum foil tape around you may want try that. I've used it over the years for some last ditch/Hail Mary repairs and it works more often than it doesn't. If you have a good brand (like those used on boilers) the adhesive is one of the toughest around and since it's made to be used on water pipes it really holds up in extreme conditions.

Is that the same stuff they use on air ducts (HVAC)? I know it can withstand heat in that case (I guess that would fall under extreme conditions Grin ). I used it in a dome light whose reflective piece was hanging down and too close to the light bulbs).
