This fruit is from the same tree that my other photos of Morus alba are from. It was identified for me on iNaturalist as the invasive Morus alba. From my understanding this is most likely the variety Morus alba tartarica (Russian Mulberry), which is more likely to have mature fruit that turn black. It looks like on garden.org there isn't a separate page for this variety though, and it's listed as a synonym for Morus alba (shown as Morus alba f. tatarica Synonym)? From what I've read you can differentiate Morus alba from Morus rubra by looking at the the top and bottom texture of the leaves. Morus alba leaves are glossy on top and not fuzzy on the underside. The fruit color and leaf shape are very variable. I believe the Morus rubra fruit are also usually longer.

This would be wonderful info added to the entry rather than hidden in a comment with the photo.

I'll see if I can add it to the entry somewhere. I'd gotten a system message that the photo had been moved from the Morus alba page to the Morus rubra. I thought I should add an explanation here on why I believed it was Morus alba before I submitted a request to get it moved back. I'm not sure if Morus alba tartarica should have its own database entry or not? I see some species where varieties get separate entries and some where they are all lumped together.

We have separate entries for valid botanical names. Morus alba f. tatarica and Morus alba var. tatarica are obsolete names, reclassified as synonyms for Morus alba.

A member has been going through pictures in the White Mulberry entry and proposing photo moves, apparently based on the color of the fruit. Sadly, fruit color is not a reliable identifying feature in mulberries. I've declined these proposals when I've seen them, but others have been approved.

Unfortunately molanic, this picture of yours was among the mistakenly approved proposals. Sorry. It's back where it belongs now, though.

No problem Kent, it was nice to know that I get a notification when a picture gets moved. I'm not an expert with plant identification, so I like to know if I've made a mistake somewhere.
