Thread OP

We ordered Florentina some time ago from someone on Ebay. (That may have been the mistake). It has grown vigorously but has never produced a single bud in about six years. We have pruned the canes back yearly and have tried two locations but to no avail. I notice that Florentina is supposed to have monster thorns but we don't see that on these plants. Maybe they sent us something else? Any suggestions what might stimulate blooming?

We are located in Hawaii and went through an exceptionally rainy period for a couple of years but it has also been dry more recently.

Please post a picture of the plant, leaves and thorns so we can see what you have. When are you doing this annual pruning?

I have Florentina and it is the thorniest rose I've ever seen. It has been a prolific bloomer also during its second year here.
