Would be helpful if you could tell where and when it was purchased. Is it a mini or large rose? If you happen to know that. Any details will help.

Hi Beth,

My wife saw it in another persons garden and thought it looked beautiful and took a picture, so unfortunately do not have any other details. I do know it is a large rose.

It does look jerijen is correct but I cannot find someone who stocks it in the UK. Did not realise this was predominantly a US forum. The photo taken is from the UK.

While we all drool over the roses you can get! I have one that looks like it called Strike it Rich, but that's from Weeks in California. The smell is divine, it does well and the PNW has very similar weather to you.

Is it possible that your wife could ask the garden-owner what this is, and where it came from?

I don't find that 'Gold Medal' was introduced in England, but it was, I think, in Australia.

I grew Gold Medal for ~ 20 years, and never saw such an extreme edge of orange on it. I don't think it's Gold Medal.

Thanks Sandsock, Strike It Rich looks beautiful and is available here in the UK. I have also been told that it could be Sheila's Perfume, looks like I will be buying multiple roses and see what they look like next year Smiling

This is what Sheila's Perfume looks like
