The stickied thread at the top of this page -- "Help with site features" -- says the following, and I quote:

"If I need help, where do I go?

-You are in the right place! The Welcome and Help Forum was created just for this purpose!"

So I posted earlier today, asking for help about posting photos that I've uploaded to the plant database into a forum thread.

And instead of getting help, my post was deleted.

Why?

It wasn't deleted, it was moved to another forum. It should still pop up on the top of your page as an updated thread.

Sometimes threads are moved to a different or more appropriate forum where it is more likely to get attention and good responses. I see that Calif Sue responded to you on the Site Forum. Sorry for any confusion.

Which I couldn't have known, because nobody bothered to tell me. In fact, I found it by accident when I went looking for answers elsewhere.

Right. You aren't notified because as soon as someone posts a reply to your thread--- it doesn't matter what forum that thread is in--- it will show up on your home page. In many cases threads get moved to the sandbox, but it's so seamless that nobody even notices.

As I just now mentioned in the thread where my question was moved to -- You are expecting someone who is asking for help with using the website to already know how to use the website.

Does that really make sense to you?

"You are expecting someone who is asking for help with using the website to already know how to use the website."

Not really. As I said, it doesn't matter on which forum the thread is posted, when someone replies it will automatically pop up at the top of the list as soon as you click on the site. There is no need for you to search the whole site.

I guess I'm not explaining this well. I'm sorry, but I just don't know how to put it in more simple terms. Maybe someone else can do better than I. Hopefully another member will come by and comment.
