Hi Jean, and a big welcome to NGA. So glad you found your way here. Hurray!
I love raised bed growing. Much less work and more produce per square foot. I like you your idea of extending the season using the green house.

Welcome Jean! Love your little greenhouse. I live in north central Washington (Twisp) and have a small greenhouse of my own. I don't use it much in the winter because it's unheated and it gets pretty cold here, but it sure is a great thing for starting seeds in the early spring. Have fun!

Hello all! My name is Alexis. I am somewhat new to gardening but have grown with my grandmother and mother my whole life. Year after year preparing, planting, weeding and harvesting various crops and other plants. These are my first years of gardening with my own family. We are located right under Whitehorse mountain in Darrington.

Hello! Looks like it's been awhile since anyone introduced themselves here so I'll take my turn Grin

I'm new to these forums and fairly new to the Pacific Northwest here in Tacoma. I bought my first house two and a half years ago and inherited a wonderful landscape of mature trees and plants around a 1951 bungalow (quite the fixer-upper). I moved in mid February and that first spring watching everything unfold and shoot out of the ground was just marvelous! I've been hard at work moving things around, pruning and editing, carving out new space for vegetable beds and a big border garden, and learning how to care for things.

This week I was looking around for any in-person gardening clubs I might join in my city when I found these forums. Looking forward to learning and connecting.

Welcome! @waxplant !

While this particular forum isn't very active, you can find a whole host of forums under the Community tab in the menu bar at top. The Ask A Question forum is always active with members helping with a wide variety of garden related questions. There is also a wonderful Plant ID forum, members from around the world love to solve mysteries of IDing plants. And we have a huge Plant Database, also found in the menu bar. It's photos and plant details are all from member contributions and you can create a custom list of plants in your garden, adding notes and details as you like.

Welcome to Washington, I'm up North in Lake Stevens. I don't know of any gardening clubs down your way but we have some fantastic gardens to see in the area. Be sure to go to the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden and Bellevue Botanical Garden. You might also look on the Elizabeth Miller Library site for a list of Puget Sound plant associations. This library is a horticultural library at the University of Washington. Oh and Heronswood on the peninsula is a must see garden. We have so many wonderful nurseries here too.

Welcome! Welcome! @waxplant
The Pacific Northwest is a paradise for plant lovers. Nurseries everywhere. Here are but a few. https://www.yelp.com/search?cf...
You can also contact your local Master Gardeners. They may be able to connect you to some garden clubs in your area.

As Sue posted above, there is so much here at NGA to experience. Enjoy. Hurray!

Yes! I was lucky enough to visit the Miller garden this past May on a small group tour. Just incredible, and I came away with a wealth of ideas. Heronswood was also wonderful and I look forward to visiting that one again during different seasons. Looking forward to checking out the Bellevue garden and Powellswood Garden next. I'm a bit of a botanical garden and arboretum fanatic -- my goal is to travel around the states and see many more gardens eventually Smiling

Wonderful, you might also visit Windcliff. Your trip sounds like a dream trip! I would one day like to visit Longwood Gardens but it's on the east coast.
