Has anyone recently gained new insights or ideas about spring sickness?
I am always curious about your experiences with this disease.
Last year, from late summer to late autumn, I sprayed 5 times against thrips, with two different products.
I thought these insects might be responsible for spring sickness.
Unfortunately there was no noticeable result of this, spring sickness was present as every year, not worse but not better either. Sighing!

I don't have the answer, Ronny. To me it seems like late cold snaps can catch a plant just right and cause problems. But I've tried a similar action as you. I have used bug spray, fungicides, and slug baits, thinking, can't hurt to try. Seems like EE's and E's that get it have more problems than M's and later blooming plants, which seem to recover for me and have normal bloom seasons.

It's been shown that spring sickness isn't caused by spring weather, but although there are suspects as shown on this page, still nothing has actually been proven:

My daylilies get spring sickness pretty much every year. Of course, not all of them, nor is it always the same ones year after year. ODDLY enough, I don't recall seeing any (zip - zero) in the spring of 2020. Can't even guess what changed or was done differently that would have cause that.

Thank You! Ronny! Maybe I do... I always thought it was from me accidentally stepping on crowns as I'm trying to remove leaves! Blinking

Johan, if Google translated your post accurately, it has been shown that spring sickness starts before the leaves emerge in spring and isn't caused by weather conditions after growth has emerged, although it's possible wet/cold weather could make it worse.

I'm thinking those mites are probably the problem. They thrive under certain temperature and moisture conditions ( Spring).

Zoia, I also fear that the bulb mite plays a role in this infestation, I am currently investigating which insecticide is effective against these insects.
The only thing I have found so far is the product "Apollo" from the Adama brand, which is not even available for private individuals here in Europe.
