Team Natural or Team Artificial?

By Trish

Historically all indoor winter decor was natural. With the invention of artificial greenery, Team Artificial was created. I'll even allow that some bat for both teams. Whatever the case for your family, come share your holiday traditions of decorating with us!

Oddly, my entire immediate family is allergic to evergreen trees. I knew I was - never made it to the Christmas Party in elementary school because of the lovely REAL trees they brought in. Back then, it was just a bad winter cold, so I stayed home with my families REAL tree. When my girls were little, we finally figured it out, and have been real tree free ever since. We had a fish net with large plastic pipe rings to hold it out like a tree for years. Then we bought a huge very real looking artificial tree. We gave that to our youngest daughter and now have a slightly smaller pre-lit tree. I do put some greens in wreaths outside - cedar branches and holly branches and berries and I make cone wreaths, which, oddly, don't seem to bother.
