I need to replace the roses for one of the trellises where I volunteer which had Cl. Iceberg (one side died, and the other turned out not be to the climbing variety), so wondering if anyone would like to weigh in on Cl. White Dawn as to whether or not it would do well in lt. shade much of the day, thorniness, needing frequent deadheading, etc. A lot of weddings take place here Spring-Fall, and this trellis is sometimes used for photo-ops (although not this year because all activities were cancelled up to Sept. because of Covid0.. We have considered Sombreil since the petals fall cleanly without forming hips. Any other suggestions? Thank You!

Here's a photo of my White Dawn, blooming on the north-facing side of the house in a mix of light shade in the mornings but plenty of sun in the afternoons. However, if you're looking for something thornless or self-cleaning, this isn't it. It would need plenty of deadheading, and there are thorns aplenty.
