Last year I purchased 20 miniature bands from Burlington Rose Nursery. Per Burling's instructions I potted them up in 1 gallon containers. I put them on a 4' high bench where they got at least 8 hours of sun. While they bloomed profusely the leaves suffered with a lot of them getting yellow tips and falling off. I moved them to a location a foot off the ground where they are in partial shade and get a couple of hours of direct sunlight. The leaves are growing like gangbusters but the blooms are sparse.
Did I damage my miniatures by giving them too much sunlight?
Is there anything else you can think of to make my miniatures prosper.

Thanks

Maybe it wasn't completely a sun problem originally (:

I've heard that yellow tips indicate some sort of nutrient deficiency or the water being given is too acidic
Or maybe they got heat exhausted and the leaves died as a result?

I'm not 100% certain though! I don't have as much experience.. Just wanted to throw some ideas (:

Hope you find the answer though!

You took them from feast to famine! They were happily blooming away in the sun. You should have left them there. Roses that are unhappy do not bloom! You put them in shade and now they are unhappy and have stopped blooming for you. Yellowing leaf tips could be from any number of reasons but sun burnt leaves are generally brown and crispy. It may have been too much or too little water or it may have just been the rose shedding old leaves. Older leaves that perhaps had been grown in the greenhouse and now were exposed to the outdoors and were reacting to the change in conditions. Get them back out in the sun. Keep them moist but not soggy wet. Maybe give them some 1/2 strength fertilizer and let them bloom!
